Scaredy Cat

So excited about my latest picture book Scaredy Cat (May, 2018) with New Frontier Publishing. Scaredy Cat was inspired by my anxious dog Pip. Kids help a little girl hunt for Scaredy Cat in each spread until the final page reveals him as a (spoiler alert) dog! I had a lot of fun writing this rhyming text and Anil Tortop exceeded my expectations with her gorgeous illustrations.

The reviews for Scaredy Cat have started coming in. Here’s a sample:

Preschoolers will adore this romping tale of friendship, bravery, pets and love.                           Boomerang Books blog

Frollicksome fun, jolly rhyming verse, playful word play, enticing phraseology and a cheeky twist at the end earn full points for this tale that shouts about friendship and humanity (caring for pets and animals) in the most humorous and fetching ways.           Goodreads

The repetitive text, rhyme and rhythm make this a catchy story to read and share and the clean, crisp illustrations provide lots to enjoy but don’t overwhelm the page so that the reader can still have fun trying to find Scaredy Cat.                                      The Bottom Shelf – Education blog
